First time? We've got answers!

We know visiting somewhere for the first time can make you feel a bit lost. Whether you go to church often or are visiting us here online for the very first time, we want to help. Here is some information to keep you in the loop during your visit. Please start out by watching the videos below and then keep scrolling!

The only thing we know about many churches is what they are against. We want people to know what we are FOR. #ForFargoMoorhead

What's it like at Good Shepherd?

Come as you are. We don’t care what clothes you wear or what kind of shape your spiritual life is in. God meets you and loves you where you are.

Communion. You are welcome, without exception. No need to be a member of Good Shepherd. If you are hungry and thirsty for unbounded grace, mercy, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ, you are welcome at Christ’s table.

We love kids. We like a noisy sanctuary. Seriously! A noisy worship space is full of life, and we think kids are leaders in worship and lives of faith. Just look around you.

No impromptu introductions during worship. If you’re visiting for the first time, no one will ask you to stand up and introduce yourself. We promise! Relax, find a good seat, and focus on worshiping God with us. We would love to know you’re here, and you can tell us by filling out the tear-off “Connection Card” on the weekly bulletin and dropping it in the offering baskets.

Follow along and participate as you feel comfortable. We have worship screens to direct you in worshiping God with us, and the order of worship for each worship service is below. Sing as loud or quiet as you like (whether it’s on-key or not). During call and response times in worship, feel to join us as directed, or sit back and do so in your heart. But please do it with Jesus first in your mind. We are a pro-participation community.

You’re welcome to Goodies! Coffee & refreshments are available in the Gathering Space outside of worship on Sundays and we have meals before worship on Wednesdays.

I’m not a Lutheran. Can I still come to church? Yes! We welcome anyone and everyone into our family of faith regardless of denomination.

What should I wear? Feel free to wear whatever you are most comfortable in. You will notice people dressed casually, in business casual, as well as in suits and dresses.

Is the building wheelchair/handicap accessible? Yes. Our entire campus is ground level.

What is the Worship Service like? Our Traditional Sunday Worship (Moorhead Campus only) is piano and/or organ led and often features a choral or instrumental group. Our Contemporary Sunday Worship and Contemporary Wednesday Worship are led by the Good Shepherd Worship Band. Both Sunday Worships last around an hour and Wednesday Worships last around 45 minutes. You are welcome to come to any worship that bests fits your worship style. We celebrate Holy Communion on the 2nd and 4th Sunday and Wednesday and we celebrate Holy Baptisms on the 1st and 3rd Sundays and Wednesdays.

I have small children. Is there a Nursery? Yes! Our Nursery is staffed each Sunday morning and Wednesday night.

I have more questions. Who can I contact? Send us a message below, message us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, give us a call or drop by during business hours to check out the church!
