Where would you like to serve in the field of Children’s
Ministry? God has blessed each of us with special talents. How are you
willing to share with the children of Good Shepherd and the community?
Call 233-4980 and ask to talk to Janis.
Please encourage children to bring their own Bibles.
All children receive a Bible in third grade. Please let the Children’s
Ministries Director know if you have a child without a Bible. The Women
of the ELCA present Bibles to third graders.
OASIS
Fees
The Education Committee has invited the entire congregation, along with
the parents, to share in the cost of this ministry. Providing Christian
education for all of our children is one of the churches important missions…
this includes those in our community who cannot afford to pay an OASISl
fee. The cost of material continues to rise. A donation of $15 would cover
the cost of curriculum and classroom materials for one child. Thanks for
your support.
Memory
work is assigned for each grade: .
Preschool--Lord’s Prayer
Grade 1----Lord’s Prayer & Ten Commandments
Grade 2 ---Ten Commandments & Meanings, Names of the 12 Disciples
Grade 3----Ten Commandments & Meanings, 23rd Psalm and Books of the Bible
Grade 4----Lord’s Prayer and Petition Meanings, Books of the Bible (Review
of all of the above)
Discipline
If a student becomes a discipline problem in class, the teacher will first
attempt to settle the problem with the student. If the student is still
a problem, the teacher will contact the parents or guardian to discuss
the issue. At that time, the teacher, student, parents and Children’s
Ministries Director will decide the next step in resolving the issue.
