“Jesus Is Coming!” was the title of our 2011
Christmas program. The kids had so much fun sharing the Christmas story
with the packed house! Kathy & Tracy Christianson did an excellent
job of arranging all of the goodies people brought for the reception that
followed the program. Oak Grove loaned us their risers again. Trevor Sorby
& David Johnson picked up the risers, set them up, and took them down.
Don Bartholome and Bill Narum helped me set up the stable and decorate
the stage. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen.
Parents’ Day Out was a great success, too. The
young people who helped with the event were tremendous! Thanks to each
of you.
Pathways Sunday/Wednesday
Representatives from Pathways Bible Camp will visit our OASIS classes
one Sunday this month. They will encourage the kids to attend camp this
summer. Camp Emmaus, one of the Pathways camps, is where most of the Good
Shepherd kids attend. Linda Bartholome has posted the various group dates
on the Youth bulletin board. Check out the dates and get your applications
in before the early bird deadline and save some money!
We are also planning a Pathways Day Camp here at Good Shepherd. Please
watch for those dates in the very near future.
“Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus Was A Kid”
Thanks to everyone who is helping with our five-week rotation on Nazareth.
Larry & Deb Holden and Ashley Murphy have helped in the Carpenter’s
Shop. Barb and Karen Spilde have helped in the Braiding & Toy Shop.
Kathy Christianson has worked in the Farmer’s Field. Angela Seewald-Marquardt
and Cheri Hagen have helped in The Bead Bazaar. Mark Rice and Roger Coté
have been in charge of the Playground. The stories were told through the
eyes of Mary this year. Ann Burrell, Marian Olson, Lisa Staiger and I
played the role of Mary. Each child visited one of the Mary stations and
heard the story for the week. They would then visit either the Marketplace
or the Playground. We have to set up and take everything down on both
Wednesdays and Sundays. It is quite an undertaking, but so much fun! Thanks
to the great crews who helped with this.
Children singing in church

The children will receive a special gift during the Children’s sermon
each week.
2012 Vacation Bible School – Mark your calendars
now. The dates are June 4-8, 2012! Our Children’s Ministry Team
will be choosing the program on February 12. With the help of Melberg’s
Christian Book & Gift Store, I bring in samples of the various VBS
programs and the Team votes on their favorite one. It is always a fun-packed
week. Don’t miss it!
